Kinlyr is built with privacy and consent at the core. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you can control it.

What we collect

• Account details: your name or alias, email and phone (if provided).
• Contacts you add: people you explicitly invite to your circles.
• Location data: only when you enable live sharing or trigger Check‑Ins/SOS.
• Device & diagnostics: app version, device model, performance logs.

How we use data

• Provide the app: show your location to approved contacts; deliver alerts and check‑ins.
• Safety features: geofences, duress code, escalation to Always‑Alert contacts.
• Improve reliability: crash/usage analytics (aggregate; no sale of personal data).

Sharing

We share data only with: (a) your approved contacts (per your settings), and (b) service providers (hosting, push notifications, maps) bound by contract to protect your data. We do not sell personal data.

Control & retention

• You can pause or stop sharing at any time.
• Location history is retained per plan (Free: none; Connect: 24h; Plus: 7 days; Circle: 30 days) then deleted or anonymised.
• You can request deletion of your account and data via privacy@kinlyr.com.

Security

We use HTTPS, access controls and monitoring. No method is 100% secure; use local emergency numbers when in danger.

Children

Parents/guardians must manage consent for minors in their circles. Kinlyr is not directed to children under 13 without parental consent.
